Covid-19 Response

Reducing Covid-19 Transmissions

Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to each agencies’ recommendations.

Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice and you may have seen this during your visits to our office. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it’s both safe and comfortable. We want to tell you about the infection control procedures we follow in our practice to keep patients and staff safe.

  • Office hours are modified to allow for daily office disinfection at the end of day.  Hours of availability are between 9am -5pm.
  • Temperature is taken of all office staff prior to their shift.
  • Patient screenings for risk of Covid, including checking temperature of patients before seating
  • Additional barriers to reduce transmission of disease
  • Hepa air purifiers to reduce poor air quality
  • Providers in full hazmat PPE
  • We have hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter the office. You will also find some in the reception area and other places in the office for your to use as needed.
  • You may see that our waiting room will no longer offer magazines, children's toys and so forth, since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect.
  • Our coffee and water station has been relocated, beverages will still be available upon request.
  • Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients.  That might mean that you’re offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment.
  • We will do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you as well as to reduce the number of patients in the reception area.
  • We are limiting guests who accompany patients with appointments.  Guests will be asked to remain in their vehicles during patient procedures.
  • Seating will be limited and spaced 6 ft. apart to maintain social distancing.
  • The clinical area, where procedures are performed, will be limited to patients receiving treatment.

A Little Reassurance

Our community has been through a lot since the start of the pandemic, and all of us are looking forward to getting back to our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety.

IDPH has carefully monitored the daily number of newly reported COVID-19 cases. If the trend continues as

anticipated, certain models indicate there will likely be a decrease in the burden of COVID-19 illness in Illinois towards the end of May 2020. With that in mind, there is a need for a plan to resume safe and routine oral and dental treatment. As continued delay in the delivery of time-sensitive, disease treating, oral and dental care may result in the over-reliance on antibiotics and analgesics to manage oral health pathologies, patient complications, poorer prognosis, as well as the need for more complex and costly corrective oral and dental care.
